Boccone Dolce (Sweet Mouthful)
I adapted this recipe from A Treasury of Great Recipes by Mary and Vincent Price. This is a classic northern Italian dessert.
The combination of strawberries and chocolate in a meringue is enough to send you right out of this world!

Bunuelos (Mexican Style Doughnuts)
Buñuelos are served for numerous festive occasions and celebrations, from Christmas and Thanksgiving, to birthdays and baptisms.
Over the years Buñuelos have become often confused with other fried breads of the southwest, such as Indian Fry Bread. It should be made known that Buñuelos are not Sopapillas,
and are not Fry Bread.

Morning Coffee and Afternoon Tea and
chocolate in between. Photos are also by Christine Torres.

Chocolate Dipped Strawberries
Chocolate strawberries are beautiful to look at and wonderful to eat! During strawberry season, I like to serve chocolate strawberries as a finale to dinner, as decorations
for cakes, and at my family's annual Mother's Day High Tea. Try serving chocolate strawberries with champagne or your favorite red wine. Since we grow pinot noir grapes,
I naturally like to serve pinot noir wine.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Pizza
One big giant cookie pizza! What could be better than chocolate and peanut butter?
Surprise your family and friends with this easy-to-make dessert.

Churros
Churros are Spain's version of the French Cruller, which are not even
French. Crullers were invented by the Dutch, thus the name Kruller. In
Danish the word Krullen means “to curl or twist.” They
are basically doughnuts, but whatever the origin, Churros are great when dipped into hot chocolate or coffee!

Coffee Baked Alaska with Mocha Sauce
Recipe and photo from Appetit Magazine, September 1999. This Baked Alaska is so easy to make, but your guests will think you spent a lot of time preparing it for them.

Cream Puffs
Everyone loves
cream puffs, but most cooks are afraid to try making them since they are
considered time consuming and difficult to make. This is actually false, as
they are quite easy to prepare and very impressive to serve.

Homemade Marshmallows
I adapted this recipe from several different recipes that I found on the internet. If youve never had fresh homemade
marshmallows, heres your chance. These marshmallows are so delicious and decadent
that you'll never want store purchased ones again!

Kringles
Kringles are butter-layered Danish pastries that were first introduce to Racine, Wisconsin in the late 1800s by immigrant Danish bakers.
In Denmark, they are traditionally pretzel-shaped, almond-filled coffee cakes called Wienerbroth (Viennese bread).

Orange Pasta
This wonderful dessert pasta is a creation of Lisa
Hutt. Lisa say, "I was so surprised on how well this turn out. I used
spaghetti pasta, but I bet angel hair pasta would also work well." Lisa
originally posted this wonderful recipe on the Food Lovers' Discussion Group web site.

Pumpkin Empanadas
Pumpkin pie may not be on the menu for a traditional Mexican-style meal,
but pumpkin empanadas most definitely are, at least on the ones I have
known. Pumpkin empanadas are made both on Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Often they are served during Noche Buena, when those re-enacting the
travels of Mary and Joseph have stopped at the chosen home to feast.

S'mores
This American classic is everyone's favorite childhood treat! S'mores are thought to have gotten their name from frequent
requests for "some more" whenever they were made. There is no "right" way to make a S'more. Anyway
you like it, is the right way. This recipe is one that has been passed down through years of
family and scout camps. If your children haven't tasted them yet, then you need
to make sure to bring the right stuff to make them for your next camping trip,
because they are missing out on an American classic. Traditionally made over an oven
bonfire, but you can bring this treat into the kitchen.

Campfire Banana Boats
This is another childhood treat that will bring back memories.
These delicious Banana Boats are like a
S'mores, but made with bananas.

Sopapillas
People call them little pillows, but the name really means “holding soup.” Sopaillas are one of many foods that New Mexico
can call it’s own - The New Mexican Quick Bread. The history of the sopapilla is over 200 years old, originating in the Albuquerque, New Mexico area. It is often
as much a staple of many New Mexican meals as the tortilla.

Toast with Chocolate and Fleur de Sel
This recipe has been adapted from the cookbook Cooking for Mr Latte, A Food Lover's Courtship, with
Recipes, by Amanda Hesser. So simple to make and so good!

Whoopie Pies
A whoopie pie is like a sandwich, but made with
two soft cookies with a fluffy white filling. Traditional whoopies pies are
made with vegetable shortening, not butter. The original and most commonly
made whoopie pie is chocolate. but cooks like to experiment, and today
pumpkin whoopie pies are a favorite seasonal variation.
