Day 5 - April 18 (Wednesday)
When we woke up this morning, with
our daily knock on the door with our coffee, we were already docked
at Puerto Vallarta. There is also another large cruise ship docked
next to ours. Actually two other cruise ships, besides our ship are
in port today. One ship from the Carnival line and another ship from
the Princess line. The cruise ship terminal is located in the
Marina area, just north of downtown Puerto Vallarta.
The weather has changed! When we
opened our veranda patio door, you could already feel the higher
humidity at 7:00 a.m. What stood out the most, when we looked
outside, was the amount of traffic already on the streets, and the
large Wal Mart stored located next to the dock. Don said, "It looks
like we are in the middle of a large U.S. city - except it has palm
trees!"
Our "Moms" decided to stay on the
ship today, as they were tired from all the walking yesterday. The
remainder of us disembarked to shop! We all managed to leave some
money in Puerto Vallarta before returning to the ship.
The
photo shows our ship docked along side of another cruise ship. Makes
for an interesting photo.

spend our moneyin Puerto Vallarta!

restaurant where we had lunch. |

Don enjoying
his first taste of fresh coconut milk. I also tasted the coconut milk, and
it was very refreshing. |

Margarita Time! Enjoying margaritas, cokes, and chips at a sidewalk
cafe on the beach. We encountered many Mexican peddlers coming
to our table trying to sell us all kinds of merchandise. We
did buy several pieces of jewelry. Laura (seated on the left) is
fantastic at buying the jewelry she wants at the price she wants.
She's our champ!
A local Mariachi Band came on board before sailing
and played some very enjoyable Mexican music. Of course, we
had to have some margaritas while listening to them. Unlimited Pina
Coladas were also featured which included a souvenir glass for only
$11.75.
Dinner - Dinner was
excellent and everyone was happy another night! The food was outstanding.
