Question:

How do you bake a homemade cake (boxed) at home to come out level like the ones in the grocery store? Plus, is there a secret to frosting a cake so when you frost it you don't get the cake crumbs mixed into the frosting when doing so. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Answers:

Do what the bakery and stores do, use your knife and cut it level.

Completely cool cake layers before frosting them and brush off all loose crumbs from the sides and bottom of each layer. If you refrigerate the cake for at least 1/2 hour before frosting, it becomes even more crumb resistant.
