Question:

I have read about "cracklin' bread" in books, have even found recipes. However, they all call for "cracklin".  What is it and where do you find it?

Answers:

Cracklings are bits of roasted or deep-fried pork skins. You can make your own, or you may be able to find them at small Mom & Pop groceries. "Cracklin' bread" is cornbread with bits of cracklings in it.
