Question:

Was delighted to find your recipe for Limoncello on your web site.  Having just returned from Italy and sadly disappointed that I cannot find it locally, I may just attempt your recipe.  But, I have a question: At the end of the recipe you say to keep in the FREEZER until use?  Do you mean freezer or will refrigerator suffice? If you must freeze this....do you freeze in smaller quantities?  - Leslie Rigali (2/1/02)

Answer:

Check out my recipe for Italian Limoncello.

Because of the high alcohol content in the finished limoncello, it does not freeze solid as other liquids. Putting the limoncello in the freezer thickens the liquid and gives a wonderfully cold and lemony taste.
