Question:

I have a 1935 recipe book from Sunset Magazine. The grocery shopping list for one of the dinners calls for a bottle of emreletes. I've asked Sunset Magazine what they are and they don't know. Do you?

Answer:

From The Wise Encyclopedia of Cookery

Emreletes are peeled seedless grapes which have been tinted green and flavored with creme de menthe. They are a commercial product and are used for garnishing fruit cups, salads, and the like.
