Located
on the hill overlooking Portland and the
Willamette River.
While you savor your
lunch or dinner, you can marvel at the
fantastic views of the Willamette River,
Mount Hood, Mount St. Helens, and nearly
all of Portland's east side.
Absolutely beautiful at night with all
the city lights!
This
restaurant is actually a chain
restaurant, but you would never know it
for the excellent quality of their food
and service, and the wonderful ambiance.
Prime rib, steaks, and seafood are
cornerstones of the menu.
We were
a large group of 10 people celebrating a
couple of "milestone" birthdays. I
wasn't able to get photos of all the
dishes.
Appetizers:
As we
were a group of 10, we ordered two large
appetizer plates. One was a "hot"
appetizer tray, and the other was a
"cold" appetizer tray. The
appetizer trays included fried calamari,
coconut shrimp, lobster spring rolls,
crab cake, and much more. These two trays
were enough to satisfy our group and
"wet" our appetites.
Soups and
Salads:

Lobster Bisque -
laced with sherry - $7.99
This
was fantastic! It actually tasted like
lobsters, had a great consistency (no
separation because of overheating), and
it had many bite-sized pieces of
lobster. This is definitely a must have.

Caesar Salad - Crisp Romaine, grated Parmesan, and our
own Caesar dressing. -
$6.99
I didn't try this salad, but the presentation
was not that great looking.
Main Entrees:
Our group was into red meat tonight, and the prime rib
and steaks were big hit! Everyone wanted their prime rib
and steak cooked
differently, and everyone was satisfied! The prime ribs
were cooked to perfection. Everyone was going "ooh" and
"aah."

Prime Rib - Chart House Cut - $24.99 |

Prime Rib and Shrimp - $31.99
|
|

Filet
Mignon Oscar - Filet Mignon topped with jumbo lump crab,
asparagus, and bearnaise sauce. - $35.88
|

Shrimp
Scampi - With a garlic white wine butter sauce and angel
hair pasta. - $24.99 |
Side Dishes:

Sizzling Mushrooms
- $5.99
Desserts:
Our group ordered
the Chart House Restaurant's signature desserts to share.
|

Hot
Chocolate Lava Cake - $8.99
Rich Godiva chocolate
liqueur cake with molten chocolate center. Served
warm with chocolate sauce, Heath Bar Crunch, and
vanilla ice cream
As far as I am
concerned,
no
dinner at the Chart House is complete without the
hot chocolate lava cake, which has to be ordered at
the start of your meal if you want it to be ready
when you are.
|

Original Mud Pie -
Coffee ice cream on a chocolate wafer crust and
topped with a fudge sauce and chopped nuts.
Check out my recipe
for my version of the Chart House Mud Pie. |
