Map & Directions

The Heathman Hotel is a downtown landmark, built in the late 1920s in the popular Italian Renaissance style. This award-winning restaurant has been a well-known fixture in the Northwest's restaurant scene for many decades.

Elegant dining by executive chef Philippe Boulot, winner of the 2001 James Beard Award for Excellence, offering Pacific Northwest cuisine that exemplifies the wonderful foods of the Pacific Northwest. Menu selections change seasonally, depending on what's best and most available. Great place to dine with friends on a special night.

We dined with a couple of long-time friends. Dishes we ordered with diner's comments:

Salads and Soup:

Apple and Pear Salad

Apple and Pear Salad - Fuji apples and local pears with toasted hazelnut vinaigrette. $8.50
The pears and apples were very thinly sliced. A very unusual presentation.

Caesar Salad

Caesar Salad - romaine hearts, garlic croutons, grana padano. $13.95
Served with the traditional whole romaine hearts, this salad was very good.

Soupe a l'Oignon, Onion Soup

Soupe a l'Oignon - Onion soup with Swiss cheese gratin. $9.15
The onion soup was just ok. It was a little disappointed with this version.

Main Entrees:

Alaskan Halibut Cheeks

Alaskan Halibut Cheeks - Lemon-herb cous cous, pomodoracio tomato vinaigrette. $22.95
My husband said the halibut cheeks were overcooked and a little dry. He was disappointed. He first had halibut cheeks in Nova Scotia, and is always looking for them on the menus of restaurant we dine at.

Bacon Crusted Salmon - Spinach risotto, sherry beurre noisette. $24.50
Our friend was this was excellent.

Bucatini Carbonara - 13-month prosciutta, reggiano parmesan, English peans, and a poached egg. $17.50.
I really enjoyed this dish. It was so good!

Anderson Ranch Leg of Lamb

Anderson Ranch Leg of Lamb - Garlic parsley plan, braised flageolet beans, lamb jus. $24.75
Our friend said it was very good.

Desserts:
Desserts were excellent! The restaurant features serving "small plates." The desserts were the perfect size after enjoying a large meal.

S'mores - House made marshmallows, crackers and chocolate sauce

S'mores - House made marshmallows, crackers and chocolate sauce. $4.80
This dessert was very good but hard to eat. It was too big to pick up with your fingers, and when trying to cut it with a fork, the dessert fell apart.

White chocolate, milk chocolate and dark chocolate pudding

Pot de Creme - White chocolate, milk chocolate and dark chocolate pudding. $6.75
A fantastic presentation! My husband really enjoyed this very rich dessert.

Lime Parfai

Lime Parfait - Minted papaya salad. $5.00
Very light and refreshing!

Heathman Bread Pudding

Heathman Bread Pudding - Warm caramel sauce. $3.75
Sorry, but this photo didn't come out well. The bread pudding was very good.
