The soda fountain has been a popular gathering place since the late 1800’s, and it’s still a great place to stop for a tasty meal, a quick snack, or a frosty shake. The fountain is decorated with old Coca-Cola memorabilia. The pharmacy was founded in 1873 by Dr. Frank A. Bailey (1839-1920), a Union Army doctor, and who later became mayor of Hillsboro in 1896. The Hillsboro Pharmacy offers old-fashioned service combined with up-to-date medications and merchandise for every need and budget. Not only is it a great place to get your prescriptions filled, it’s also a great place to shop for unique gifts and greeting cards.
My husband and
I like to stop in for breakfast whenever we can. The food is always
good! I especially enjoy being able to have their old-fashioned
milkshakes. So good! It is definitely a gathering place for a lot
of locals. You can eat great food and enjoy the talk around the
fountain bar.
