The restaurant has great ambiance with a great view of the woods, yet it's only a couple blocks off the highway. It is kind of a neighborhood restaurant.

This was our second visit to the restaurant. The first time we dined there, the service was so bad (the waitress was actually rude) that I said I would never go back. My husband encouraged me to give the restaurant one more try. So here we are!

What we ordered with diner's comments:

We ordered from their Autumn Celebration 3 Course Dinner Menu - $24.00 per person.

Starters:

Lambs Leaf Lettuce Salad, Poached Quince, Pomegranate Seeds and Blue Cheese - This salad was excellent and very refreshing.  I really enjoyed it.

Smoked Duck Crepe, Herbed Goat Cheese and Pinot Noir Reduction - This also was good, but very rich for a starter. The serving was more like an entree.  A smaller serving would have been better.

Entree:

Sauteed Rainbow Trout, Buttered Brussel Sprouts, Smoky Bacon and Pine Nuts - The trout was slightly overcooked with not much taste. Overall, my husband said it was just ok.

Roasted Pumpkin-Mascarpone Ravioli, Browned butter, Sage and Toasted Pumpkin Seeds
- I asked them to leave the pumpkin seeds off.  This dish was too, too rich for me.  The combination of ingredients just didn't work. I only ate a couple of bits, and I would never order this again.  It upset my stomach, and I didn't feel well the rest of the evening.

Dessert:

Plate of Amy's Cookies, Pecan Pralines and Sweets - Tasted old as if have been sitting around for awhile. Since my stomach was already upset from the pumpkin ravioli, maybe my taste buds were turned off!

White Chocolate-Apricot Bread Pudding with Vanilla Anglaise - My husband liked the bread pudding.

Reviews from other diners:

I'm up in the middle of the night to get something to eat after a perfectly terrible dinner experience at Hunters Ridge Grill in Sherwood, Oregon. Thanks for your web review. It is from almost a year ago, and the place hasn't changed. I live in Sherwood and was swayed by advertising to give the place a try. The service was awful, the room had no atmosphere, and the food was weird and not good.

I had a pasta in butter sauce. In reality, it was a ball of boiled noodles with unsalted melted butter dumped on it. There were chanterelle mushrooms (two I'd guess), one cherry tomato, and about 6 hazelnuts - No cream or no cheese.

We had one of the best wines I've ever tried. And since I didn't really have any food to eat, I was pretty happy anyhow as it went straight to my head.

We were seated for about 10 minutes or more before anyone came by. Tables around us were given wine lists. My husband went to the front and asked for one, and still no water or waiter. When the waiter did come, he didn't welcome us or smile. He just asked if we'd like a drink. Eventually he brought bread (really small pieces in an oversized basket).

The room has no drapes, no dividers between tables, no flowers, no music (as in, not even a CD playing over the speakers), and the wall by our table was all chipped and dirty. The lights were up bright, in a room full of couples dining. No place to hang jackets except on your chair. Basically, no one decorated the place or maintains it that I can see.

Oh, and they have about four booths that everyone asked to be seated at. Over and over the hostess had to explain that they were reserved. As my husband told her, "I called for a reservation and no one asked if I'd like a booth." She didn't respond to him at all. - Jacki (10/27/07)
