I make every attempt to remain anonymous while reviewing each restaurant.  All meals are paid for by myself.  This way, I can report the most honest and trustworthy restaurant reviews possible. Other recognizable critics frequently get special food and service. I forgo any perks so that my restaurant experience will be similar to yours.

I’m somewhat new to Vietnamese food. My first experience was at the Silk Vietnamese Restaurant and Bar, located in the Pearl District of Portland. Click on the underlined for my review of this restaurant. The food and presentation was fantastic!

Before going to a play in Portland, my daughter suggested we go to the Pho Van Vietnamese Restaurant in Beaverton.  I was surprised to find out that the same people owned this restaurant that owned the Silk Vietnamese Restaurant.

She said we must try the Rice Stick Noodle Soups. My husband and I followed her recommendation and were not disappointed. The soups were absolutely delicious! I am now addicted to Vietnamese food.

I am anxious to return and try some of the other interesting sounding dishes on the menu. Watch for more photos from this restauant.

The dishes we ordered:

Appetizers:

Goi Cuon (salad rolls) - Rice paper rolls with shrimp, pork, vermicelli noodles, mint leaves, bean sprouts, lettuce, chives and a side of peanut sauce. $4.95

Goi Cuon Chay (vegtarian salad rolls) - Rice paper rolls with vegetables, shredded tofu and a side of peanut sauce. $4.95.

Nuoc Dua – Coconut drink with young coconut slices. $2.50

Pho - Rice Stick Noodle Soup:

Tai Chin (round steak and lean brisket). $6.95

Pho Ga (chicken moodle soup) - slices of chicken with green onions and rauram. $6.95
