This restaurant in Newberg has caused quite a stir throughout the North Willamette Valley. The restaurant is located in a refurbished Victorian house (the Painted Lady) with seating both indoors and outdoors. The restaurant is named after the style of painting grand old Victorian houses with bright colors.

The menu is a three-course fixed menu. It is divided into four sections and is priced at any three selections for $45.00. The sections are essentially starters, fish and shellfish, meat, poultry and vegetarian, and desserts and cheeses. The menu changes weekly as ingredients revolve in and out of season.

A more extensive Chef's Tasting Menu, with or without wine pairings, is also available. The restaurant also presents winemaker dinners the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.

My husband and I have dined here several times. We have always had excellent service and outstanding food. The presentation of every dish is beautiful.

Reviews from other diners:

I dine out regularly.  I was there last night, 3/16/2007, with a small group of friends.  It is the best restaurant in Portland!  Everything was perfect.  Food, service and atmosphere.  Their gourmet choices of courses also was very impressive.  I wanted to try more than my stomach could handle.

I can recommend this restaurant, with no question, to people that want a top notch gourmet dinning experience.  This chef knows his art and craft and delivers. While I did not have the tasting menu, that is a wonderful option and a great value also.

I wish this restaurant was in the Portland metro area as oppose to wine country.  I think any guest you would bring, like I did, would be more then impressed and satisfied with their total experience.  Sincerely - David Kroger (3/17/07)
