Overall Review:
The winner for the evening was the Steamed Salmon. It was cooked perfectly with a wonderful delicate mushroom cream sauce. If I could have rated the restaurant on just this dish, they would have received four stars. But since ratings are awarded on the whole dining experience, this wasn't possible.

Housed in what was once a woodworking mill. It is a loft=style building that is shared with Seven Hills winery. Very open restaurant with views of both the bar and the kitchen. Even with the expansive area, it still achieves a cozy atmosphere.

We had read and heard so many goods thing about this restaurant, that we expected top-quality food. I'm sorry to say that our dinners, except one, fell short of our expectations. One of the biggest problems was the over seasoning of most of the foods. Too much salt and too much hot pepper. We were very disappointed!

They also have a Three-course prix fixe menu for each evening. You can also choose from the menu of the evening, and also the bar menu for lighter fare.

Dishes we ordered with diner's comments:

Starters:

Country style pate with house made mustard and pickled cherries. $10.00

This pate was very good. The pate was very unusual with pistachio nuts in it. The pickled cherries, mustard, and the pickles were all too sour for the palate.

Grilled quail with a smoky peanut mole sauce and pickled Walla Walla sweets. $12.00

Quail was good, but the mole was to spicy hot!

Salad:

Melted Quillisascut goat cheese with bitter greens, plums, cherries, and verjus dressing. $9.00

Again the dressing was too sour!  Verjus is like using lemon juice, and you have to be careful with the oil to juice ratio.

Entrees:

Grilled Sunleaf Farm squab with roasted cherries, gaufrette potatoes, garden lettuces, and squab-thyme jus. $28.00

The diner's comment was, "Not bad, but not great!"  The gaufrette potatoes were just potato chips.

Alaskan halibut with sesame-cilantro pesto and oven roasted vegetables. $27.00

My husband did not like this halibut at all!  It had a hard crust on the top and was overcooked and dried out. He didn't even finish the dish.

Steamed Copper River salmon with morel mushrooms, spring vegetables, and mushroom cream. $32.00

The winner for the evening was the Steamed Salmon. It was cooked perfectly with a wonderful delicate mushroom cream sauce. Everyone in our group had to taste this dish. If I could have rated the restaurant on just this dish, they would have received four stars. But since ratings are awarded on the whole dining experience, this wasn't possible.

Stew of locally raised grass-fed beef with red wine, bacon, mushrooms, and Walla Walla sweet onions. $24.00

This should have been an outstanding stew with the grass-fed beef, wine and vegetables.  Well it wasn't! It was too salty!  The salt overpowered the dish and ruined it.  What a disappointment!
