Bourbon Butter Sauce

Recipe Type: Condiments and Sauces, Bourbon
Yields: 6 servings
Prep time: 10 min
Cook time: 5 min



Ingredients:

1/2 cup butter
2/3 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons bourbon
1/2 teaspoon freshly-grated nutmeg
2 tablespoons water
1 egg, beaten


Preparation:

In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, combine butter, sugar, bourbon, nutmeg, and water; stirring occasionally until bubbly around the edges. Remove from heat.

Off the heat, blend beaten egg into hot butter mixture.

Return to heat; bring to a boil over medium-low heat, stirring constantly. Cook 1 to 2 minutes or until thickened. Remove from heat and serve.

Makes enough for 6 servings.
