After visiting New Zealand and tasting their wonderful lamb dishes, I put together this mint sauce recipe. Very simple to make and so good! Excellent for serving with all your lamb recipes.

New Zealand Mint Sauce

Recipe Type: Condiments and Sauces, Mint
Cuisine: New Zealand

Yields: 1 cup
Prep time: 10 min

Cook time: 5 min


Ingredients:

1 cup white vinegar
2/4 cup granulated sugar
1 cup finely chopped mint leaves

Preparation:

In a small saucepan over medium-high heat, combine vinegar and sugar, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Bring just to a boil and then remove from heat.

Add mint leaves and stir well. Let the mixture sit until the mint leaves have flavored the sauce to your satisfaction. Strain the mint leaves out and discard. Pour in a refrigerator container with a lid to store.

This sauce will keep for several months in the refrigerator.

Makes 1 cup.
