Orange Hard Sauce

Recipe Type: Condiments and Sauces, Oranges
Yields: 8 servings
Prep time: 10 min


Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups powdered (confectioner's) sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
2 tablespoons
brandy, bourbon, rum, orange liqueur, or Cognac (your choice)*
1 teaspoon finely-grated orange peel (zest)

* Traditional Hard Sauces use brandy.


Preparation:

Using your electric mixture, combine powdered sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Add the liquor of your choice and orange peel. Stir until well combined.

Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. Can be made 4 days ahead.

Bring to room temperature before serving.
