This is so good and so easy to make!  This is a take-off from my Peaches and Cream Pie recipe. I didn't want to take the time to make pie crust, and I didn't have any store-brought crusts in the freezer. This would be great for either breakfast or a dessert.

Peaches and Cream Custard

4 to 5 peaches, peeled, pitted, and halved
1 cup
sugar
3
eggs
1 cup
heavy cream or sour cream
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Have a pie plate, cake dish, or square baking dish ready. Place peach halves tightly together in one layer into pastry-lined plate.

In a medium bowl, beat eggs with a whisk. Add sugar, heavy cream or sour cream, and vanilla extract; whisk until thoroughly blended.

Pour mixture over peaches and bake 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and continue to bake for 35 minutes or until filling is set. Remove from oven and serve slightly warm or at room temperature.

Makes 8 to 10 servings.
