Italian Affogato is a traditional Italian espresso-based dessert that you will find on menus of most Italian restaurants, as well as cafes serving coffee drinks. You can easily make this coffee dessert at home with your favorite coffee and ice cream or gelato.
Affogato means “drowned” in Italian or “drowned in coffee.” This is a beverage of perfect, preferably smooth ice cream, drowning in a cup of espresso – like a decadent coffee float!
