Servings: 2 to 3 servings
Ingredients
  • Lots of ice  (about 1 to 2 cups ice cubes)*
  • 8 to 10 ripe strawberries, fresh**
  • 4 ounces tequila (good-quality)
  • 1 1/2 ounces lime juice, fresh-squeezed
  • 1 1/2 ounces Triple Sec
  • Simple Syrup (optional)
  • Coarse salt or sugar (for rimming the glass)
  • Whole strawberries (for garnish)
  • Lime slices (for garnish)
Instructions
  1. Wash, dry, and hull the strawberries.

  2. In a blender, add the ice.  Fill the blender half-full with ice(the ice must be the first thing the blender grinds up).

  3. After grinding up the ice, add the strawberries, tequila, lime juice, and Tripe Sec; blend until smooth.  At this point, have a little taste.  Some people like to slightly sweeten up the Strawberry Margarita a little more.  If you do, add a little Simple Syrup to taste.

  4. Pour into the Margarita Glasses rimmed with either coarse salt, Margarita Salt, or coarse sugar.  To create a salt or sugar-rimmed glass, take a lime wedge and rub the drinking surface of the glass so it is barely moist.  Dip the edge of the glass into coarse salt or sugar.

  5. Garnish with a whole strawberry and a lime slice (optional).

  6. Non-Alcoholic Version:  Omit tequila and Triple Sec. Add an additional squeeze of lime juice.

  7. Makes 2 to 3 serving

  8.

Recipe Notes

* How much ice you use depends on your taste.  You may want to experiment with the ice.

** 4 ounces frozen sliced strawberries in syrup (partially thawed) may be substituted in place of the fresh strawberries.  Using frozen strawberries (with syrup), will provide a sweeter margarita.
