Horseradish Sauces Recipes

Horseradish Sauce is my family’s favorite sauce to use with Classic Prime Rib.  In fact, my family consider it essential!  These sauces are so simple to make and so good.  So, no horsing around and try one of these recipes.

You could make the old fashion type of horseradish and grate your own fresh horseradish root, buy why?  It is so easy and less mess when you make this sauce with prepared horseradish.

Horseradish sauces, made with prepared horseradish and either whipped cream or sour cream, tastes great.  The creamy bite of these sauces adds a little sharpness and a slight tang that tastes incredible with beef.  The pairing is magical!

I have been following your prime rib advice since 2009; I haven’t missed yet! So first off, THANK YOU. I owe my reputation entirely to your site.

I was perusing your updated website. I notice the meat is out of the oven when you insert the instant read thermometer. I usually open the oven door, insert the thermometer, wait and then close.

Q: Does reading the meat thermometer with the oven door open allow too much heat to escape? Is it better to pull the roast (16.5 lbs., ugh) out of the oven first?

    Thank you again.

We check the temperature while the roast is in the oven. I don’t close the door as I don’t want the heat to damage the thermometer. The instant read thermometer is quick enough you shouldn’t loose too much heat.
