Baked Deviled Crab (Crabmeat Dressing)
From
the recipe files of Robert
Hammond, chef and owner of
The Kitchen at Honeyman Creek Farm
in Warren, Oregon.

These also are
great served as the starter course of your meal.
Crab Cakes with Green Onion Sauce
You won't believe how wonderful

and every bit as good as any crab cakes we've ever tasted.
Snow
Peas Stuffed with Crab
Recipe from The Dinah Shore Cookbook, by Dinah Shore, published by Doubleday & Company, Inc., 1983. This is a very pretty finger food that is also delicious!
Truffle Custards with Crab and
Caviar
A wonderful delicate truffle custard to use as a first course or appetizer for your dinner party.
Herring:
German Herring Salat (Herring Salad)
This is our family's recipe for making German Herring Salad. This
recipe is from my children's grandmother, Gertrude Zemp. We
make this for Christmas Eve every year. It is very easy to do, and as
the herring is already "pickled," it holds up well in the refrigerator.
Lobsters:
Lobster Cakes with Papaya Mayonnaise
The lobster meat shines in these wonderful hand-made lobster cakes.
Can be served as an appetizer or an entree. I adapted this recipe from Chef Gregory Cornelius of
the Crescent Club in Memphis, Tennessee.
Oysters:
Angels on Horseback
(Oysters Wrapped in Bacon)
These oysters make a great appetizer. So easy and so delicious! My husband just loves these!
We can make a dinner of these oysters.
Oyster Bruschetta
Oysters lovers will devour these
appetizers!
Oysters Casino
Oyster lover's delight!
A very easy recipe to prepare and always a favorite with my husband.
Pickled Oysters
You can eat these delightful oysters
right out of the jar or serve as an appetizer. They are also
delicious served on a bed off crisp greens or mixed with sliced
cucumber for a summer salad.
Shrimp:
Anytime Balsamic Shrimp
I slightly adapted this recipe
by cookbook author Julee Rosso. Julee and her husband, Bill, own the
Wickwood Inn
in Saugatuck, MI. Julee says, "This is one of my all-time favorite
dishes, and it couldn't be simpler. It began because I brush "tradizionale"
(50 - 100 years old) balsamic vinegar on shrimp as we're grilling them. But
only "tradizionale" works for that because it's so extraordinary -
commercial balsamic is far too acidic. And when I'm out of the real stuff -
I make Faux Aged Balsamic Vinegar - simple enough."
Baked Stuffed Shrimp with Clams
Very easy to prepare and so good!
California Rolls
Making sushi at home is easy
to do. Ingredients and equipment can be found at Japanese and Asian foods
stores as well as at most large food or grocery stores. I did a large amount
of reading on how to make sushi rolls before attempting my first ones. Sushi
making does requires a small amount of initial practice. Don't be afraid to
try!
Grilled Shrimp with Lime
These
lime grilled shrimp are so tasty and so easy to make. The lime/garlic flavor
makes this dish a standout. This is truly a "finger-licking" food!
Grilled Shrimp with Truffle Oil Vinaigrette
Nothing is better than these
wonderful shrimp with truffle oil!
Killer Shrimp
Y our guests
and family will definitely love these shrimp!
Mango Salad with Grilled Shrimp
This wonderful tasting salad
is so easy to make and looks beautiful also! This is a definite
make-again dish. This makes an excellent starter course, and is equally great as
a light luncheon dish. If you want to impress guests, this one is the dish to
make!

Grilled Prosciutto Wrapped Shrimp<
What could be easier than
grilling the shrimp for a tasty appetizer?
Shrimp Appetizer Supreme
These are fabulous! Sure to impress your guests. This is one of my
"fall back to" appetizer recipes. This recipe was given to me by my friend,
Karen Calanchini of Redding, California.
Shrimp Cheeseball or Spread
This is my mother's favorite recipe to bring to our Christmas Eve
celebration every year. It is easy to make and a favorite of our
family.
Shrimp Cocktail
What could be easier and more
delightful than a shrimp cocktail to start off your meal?
Shrimp Cream Cheese
This
appetizer has got to be the easiest ever to make. No cooking, no mixing, no
cutting up - just assemble the ingredients and serve. What could be easier?
Shrimp Martini Ceviche with Chili-Cumin Chips
For a wonderful refreshing first-course
presentation, serve this delightful low fat, low calorie, and low
carbohydrate Ceviche Martini. The acidity of the lime juice
actually "cooks" or "pickles" the shrimp and firms the flesh.
Shrimp Won Tons
These are fabulous! Sure to impress your guests.
Spring
Rolls
How about a Spring Roll or Summer Roll? It's
a cool, easy, and an efficient process that yields a delectable prize.
Did you know that Spring/Summer Rolls are Egg Rolls that are not fried? Because they are not fried, they are very low in fat and calories! Not only are these Rolls tasty, but they are also healthy. These are good as a starter or a main course.
Smoked Salmon:
Herbed Phyllo Purses with Brie Cheese and Salmon Lox
A very delicious and beautiful appetizer that will "wow" your guests.
Salmon Spring Rolls
A very easy Spring Roll to serve to your family and friends.
Smoked Salmon and Goat Cheese Crostini
So
easy to make and so good!
Smoked Salmon and Goat Cheese Strata
My family and guests loved this recipe. I made it for Christmas brunch this year. This is a new twist on strata, a layered dish that has been around for a long time. Baked in a springform
pan, this version is served in wedges, which are perfect for a
brunch.
Smoked Salmon in Cucumber Cups
Cucumber cups make a very easy and elegant way to serve
this smoked salmon.
Smoked Salmon Mousse In Won Ton Baskets
Another great appetizer
recipe by Peggy Bucholz of Tucson, AZ. This is a wonderful
make-ahead appetizer, as everything can be made days ahead and assembled
just before your party.
Smoked Salmon Roulades
These roulades are as wonderful to eat as
they are to look at!
Smoked Salmon Sandwich on Pumpernickel
A wonderful and tasty way to use smoked salmon. The pumpernickel bread gives that "little something special" to the sandwich.
Cut the sandwiches into small shapes for an interesting and delicious
appetizer.
Smoked Salmon Tartare
This simple smoked salmon dish makes a great appetizer. It looks like a tartare, but by using the smoked salmon there are no raw ingredients to upset your finicky guests. Can be prepared several hours ahead.
Smoked Salmon Tartar with Wasabi Sabayon
This recipe
is by
Executive Chef, Andreas Sommerfeld, of the
Holland American Cruise Line on the Oosterdam ship. The chef demonstrated this
dish on our family's March 2007
Mexican
Riviera Cruise.
Smoked Salmon Terrines
This wonderful
recipe was sent to me by Ruth Colson who lives in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia.
Tuna:
Ahi Tuna Poke
- Hawaiian Poke
Poke (pronounced POH-kay) is served in most Hawaiian homes and
restaurants as a side dish, and no gathering in Hawaii would be
complete without a few bowls of poke. In Hawaiian, poke means "cut
piece" or "small piece." Poke is bite-size pieces of raw fish doused
in seasonings. Poke is actually the Hawaiian version of the elegant
Japanese sashimi (a combining of the Hawaiian and Japanese taste for
raw fish).
Spuma di Tonno - Tuna Mousse
This smooth tuna spread is incredibly
simple yet has great depth of flavor. Everybody who tastes it asks
for the recipe.
