Lemon Sauce Recipe

 

This easy-to-make and very versatile delicious lemon sauce recipe is great on desserts such as cakes, gingerbread, fresh fruits, and whatever else sounds good to you.  Lemon Sauce tastes fantastic on so many desserts!

Lemon Sauce Recipe:

Lemon Sauce Recipe

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Yield: approximately 1 cup

Ingredients:

1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/4 cup cold water
1/2 cup boiling water
1 tablespoon butter, cut into cubes
1/2 teaspoon lemon extract (optional)
2 tablespoons freshly-squeezed lemon juice

 

Instructions:

In a small saucepan, mix together sugar and cornstarch thoroughly.  Stir in cold water until cornstarch is dissolved.  Add boiling water and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened and clear in color.

Remove from heat and stir in butter, lemon extract, and lemon juice; set aside until ready to serve.

Makes approximately 1 cup lemon sauce.
