Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line an 8-inch square baking dish with parchment paper.

In a 4-cup Pyrex measuring bowl or any microwave-proof bowl, melt chocolate pieces and butter together, stirring until chocolate pieces are all melted. NOTE: It will take approximately 1 1/2 to 2 minutes to melt. Remove from microwave and let cool slightly. Learn different techniques for How To Melt Chocolate.

Add the sugar and stir until incorporated into the chocolate. Stir in the eggs until well mixed. Add the flour and stir just until blended in. Stir in the chocolate chips and pecans.

Spread brownie batter into the prepared baking pan. Bake exactly 30 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool on a wire rack.

NOTE: I like to freeze these baked brownies and then cut them to whatever size that I prefer when ready to serve. I store them in ziplock bags and either refrigerate or freeze them. Bring the brownies to room temperature before serving.
