Chunky Fudge Brownies Recipe

These Chunky Fudge Brownies are easy to prepare and bake up when you just need that chocolate fix – each bite is rich with chocolate fudge flavors.  Brownies with a chunky texture to them are THE BEST!

Camille, the creator behind these delectable brownies, says, “Chunky Fudge Brownies are great by themselves or with Homemade Vanilla Custard Ice Cream and Chocolate Sauce.”  In the wintertime we like to whip up a pan of brownies and this is our go-to recipe.  We can not wait to get our hands on the brownies hot out of the oven.  There’s nothing like enjoying a treat of warm fudge brownies and an ice cold glass of milk to wash it all down.

Servings: 12 to 20 brownies (depending on the size you cut).
  • 3 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar (granulated)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cups plus 2 tablespoons flour (all-purpose
  • 2/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels (chips)
  • 2/3 cup pecans, toasted then chopped
  1.  Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.  Line an 8-inch square baking dish with parchment paper.

  2. In a 4-cup Pyrex measuring bowl or any microwave-proof bowl, melt chocolate pieces and butter together, stirring until chocolate pieces are all melted.  NOTE: It will take approximately 1 1/2 to 2 minutes to melt.  Remove from microwave and let cool slightly.  Learn different techniques for How To Melt Chocolate.

  3. Add the sugar and stir until incorporated into the chocolate.  Stir in the eggs until well mixed.  Add the flour and stir just until blended in.  Stir in the chocolate chips and pecans.

  4. Spread brownie batter into the prepared baking pan.  Bake exactly 30 minutes.  Remove from oven and let cool on a wire rack.

  5. NOTE:  I like to freeze these baked brownies and then cut them to whatever size that I prefer when ready to serve.  I store them in ziplock bags and either refrigerate or freeze them.  Bring the brownies to room temperature before serving.
