Day 3 - April 16 (Monday)
Our first port of call, Cabo San Lucas, was today. Our boat anchored in the bay around 9:00 a.m. and we disembarked on the tenders after breakfast, around 11:00 a.m. Everyone in our group, except the "Moms" went ashore. Don and I walked around with my brother Jerry and his wife, Laura. Her pedometer registered that we walked 5 miles around the town. It was a good thing that the "Moms" didn't go ashore. The streets were uneven and had steps all over. Their electric scooters just wouldn't have been easy to navigate - almost impossible!
It didn't take much time for all the merchandise in the stores to start looking the same. Vendors approached us everywhere we went. Dickering for the selling price was the norm for the day. Whatever price the vendors asked, we could end up getting 1/3 of their initial asking price.

On the streets of Cabo San Lucas. |
We had lunch at a Mexican restaurant on the docks. The food was excellent! Better than we have had so far on the cruise ship. I know it is hard to believe, but it was. It was while we were at the restaurant that we saw the CNN broadcast of the shootings at Virginia Tech. 33 people were killed, including the gunman. As I update this journal, I'm watching the CNN news on the killings. So sad! |

Our family went to the Margaritaville Sailaway Festivities on deck. Since Mom can't drink any alcohol, we ordered her a virgin margarita. She thoroughly enjoyed it - she even got off her scooter!

The Crow's Nest Bar on Observation Deck 10 was our favorite place to hang out in the evenings before dinner. This lounge has a fabulous bank of 10 recliner chairs in front of floor-to-ceiling windows which offer a breathtaking view of the sea. Don likes to order a Beef Eater Martini (with three olives) and I like to try their drink of the day.
We can usually find other members of our family here. It a very
relaxing and beautiful place on the
ship, as it is located near the bow of
the ship.

Dinner -
Tonight our table problem was solved! They finally seated us at a
large round table on the lower level of the Vista Dining Room. This
was also the first night that everyone's dinner choices were cooked
perfectly! Everyone was happy. Our wine steward even brought the
Riedel wine glasses for us to use.
Photo on right is the lower level (level 1) of the Vista Dining Room. For the first two nights we were on level 2. The remainder we were on level 1 at the table in the photo every evening.
Below are two of the favorite appetizers of the evening and our favorite entrees:

Sweet Tomato and Fresh
Mozzarella |
Watermelon Cocktail
